Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon, John T. Stranix, MD
A native of Vienna, Dr. John T. Stranix has a comprehensive cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery practice in addition to serving as an assistant professor in the Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery. At his practice, he focuses primarily on breast cancer reconstruction surgery, lower extremity reconstruction surgery, abdominal wall repair, perforator flap surgery and microsurgery, complex wound healing, gender confirming procedures, and physiologic lymphedema surgery.
Dr. Stranix majored in chemistry at the University of Virginia, where he met his future wife, Nancy, who is an orthodontist. After earning a master’s degree in physiology from Georgetown University, Dr. Stranix then graduated from Virginia Commonwealth School of Medicine. In addition to earning a medical degree, Dr. Stranix was both class president and valedictorian of his graduating class. After completing plastic surgery training at New York University and Bellevue Hospital in New York City, he received additional training in reconstructive microsurgery at the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Dr. Stranix is a proud member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
