Our Advanced Practice Providers

Nichole Brooks, PA-C

Nichole Brooks, PA-C, is an experienced physician assistant with more than 8 years of clinical experience and a special focus on aesthetic medicine. She provides personalized, nonsurgical aesthetic treatments designed to enhance natural features, improve skin quality, and help patients achieve refreshed, natural-looking results.

Education & Experience

Nichole attended the University of Connecticut, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in allied health sciences. She earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, graduating with a Research Excellence Award in 2017. She is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She joined Duke Plastic Surgery in 2018 and UVA Health in 2023.

Before joining UVA Health, Nichole practiced in Manhattan on the Upper East Side at an aesthetic plastic surgery practice, where she gained extensive experience caring for patients seeking surgical and nonsurgical facial rejuvenation. She takes a thoughtful, individualized approach to treatment and works closely with each patient to develop a plan tailored to their anatomy, concerns, and aesthetic goals.

In addition to her clinical practice, Nichole serves as the APP manager for the Advanced Practice Provider division at UVA, providing leadership and support for advanced practice providers within the department.

Personal Life

Nichole lives in Crozet with her husband and growing family. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

Rachel Thal-Larsen, PA-C

Rachel Thal-Larsen, PA-C, is a physician assistant with a special interest in aesthetic medicine and nonsurgical facial rejuvenation. She provides individualized aesthetic care and takes a thoughtful approach to treatment, focusing on natural-looking results tailored to each patient’s goals.

Education & Experience

Rachel attended the University of Maryland, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in public health science and volunteered as an EMT. She earned her Master of Science in physician assistant studies from West Virginia University School of Medicine. Before moving to Charlottesville, she practiced as a trauma and acute care surgery physician assistant in Washington, DC.

Personal Life

Originally from Potomac, Maryland, Rachel enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking, skiing, and spending time with her husband and family in coastal Maine and at Lake Anna.
