The University of Virginia Department of Plastic Surgery’s esteemed history has lead to many notable achievements. We have trained an ever-expanding group of plastic surgeons who have gone on to achieve a range of accomplishments such as leading plastic surgery programs at other universities, directing national organizations, establishing their own practices, and returning to UVA as faculty members themselves. Our research activities continue to shape the direction of the field and have improved the lives of many people in the U. S. and internationally.
